| Sis. Rebecca Simonette |
Rebecca Simonette was born again in 1971 in Fairbanks, Alaska and has been a member of Apostolic Tabernacle since its inception in 1976. She attended Texas Bible College from 1974-1977 and was exposed to the puppet ministry while on a TBC rotation to Bro. Maclain's church in 1975. She earned a master's degree in biology from San Jose State University in 1986 and has been working in the chemistry and biochemistry departments at Rice University since 1999. |
The children's puppet ministry was revived in August of 1999 when the Simonette family moved back to Houston from California. The puppets are primarily an instrument used for children's church. But several times a year the puppet perform in the main sanctuary for the child that lives in every adult. |
The puppet presentations are an unique and entertaining combination of plot, spoken parts, and songs. The stories and topics range from the practical and contemporary to the historical and biblical. Puppet shows are a fun and effective tool for our children and adults alike. |
The dynamic puppet ministry team includes: Matthew Simonette, Bridgett Tyler, James Tyler, Ashley Cheeks, Carolyn Henry, Lashwan Youngblood,
Mathilda Christophe, Nekita Rawlins, Rochelle Sherman, and Justine Wright. |
